CABINET CARD

A "cabinet card" is a photographic print measuring 4" x 5.5" attached to a cardboard mount 4.25" x 6.5". Intoduced in 1863 by Windsor & Bridge in Britain, many different types (processes) of photographic prints of were mounted on the "cabinet card" such as albumin, bromide, carbon, gelatin, platinum, mezzotint, Velox as well as photomechanical prints such as collotypes and woodburytypes.
